Immortality. It’s a mystery.
We become spiritual bodies.
We partake in the Eucharist.
We pray to deepen our faith.
Eternal life given
us at baptism.
Still it is hard
to live and
not fear
death.
Stop.
Useless
feelings of
guilt wrench the heart.
Even when the mind
knows nothing can be done.
There is shame in believing
the burdens are carried alone.
Help comes in the guise of the baby
sent to live and die a Savior of Faith.
Listen, the voice of the Holy Spirit
beckons all to be in communion
with the whole body and heart of
the Savior. Taste the goodness
of sharing in the feast
believing offers.
There is no guilt
or shame in
letting
go.
We
let go
only when
our minds detach
from fears our egos
hold onto like iron shields.
Releasing our grip takes faith
in the belief that letting go
strengthens spiritual armor with
the holy hands of the Spirit in ours.
We
come to
the manger
finding great joy
in the Savior’s birth.
But it is his coming
again that we truly seek.
An Advent of active waiting
calls our hearts and hands to intention
for peace on earth and good will in all ways.
Breathe.
Relax.
Take time to
inhale deeply
and exhale slowly.
The anxiety fades.
The calm washes over you.
For a moment there is peace when
the Holy Spirit enters your soul.
Savor these moments for they are your strength.
All
we have
is yours, God.
All that we are.
All that we will be.
Gifts received but not earned,
bestowed by Your loving grace.
You light our paths of unknowing.
Humble trust and faith our guide and shield.
Bring us in safety to the journey’s end.
Prayer for Travelers from the Book of Common Prayer, p. 831:
O God, our heavenly Father, whose glory fills the whole creation, and whose presence we find wherever we go: Preserve those who travel [in particular…]; surround them with your loving care; protect them from every danger; and bring them in safety to the journey’s end; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Peace
requires
patience and
constant practice.
To reach inner peace
one must quiet voices
in the mind and be open
to the intimate messages
sent deep into the heart soul by God
instilling within the true peace one seeks.

All hearts are open to God’s voice.

The Holy Spirit inspires our choice.
