Waiting

We
come to
the manger
finding great joy
in the Savior’s birth.
But it is his coming
again that we truly seek.
An Advent of active waiting
calls our hearts and hands to intention
for peace on earth and good will in all ways.

I love the shape of this poem–a Christmas tree! Feast for the eyes as well as for the spirit. I agree that Advent really is about intentional work on our parts to promote God’s reign on earth here and now.
