The Beast of Burden

Stop.
Useless
feelings of
guilt wrench the heart.
Even when the mind
knows nothing can be done.
There is shame in believing
the burdens are carried alone.
Help comes in the guise of the baby
sent to live and die a Savior of Faith.

Listen, the voice of the Holy Spirit
beckons all to be in communion
with the whole body and heart of
the Savior.  Taste the goodness
of sharing in the feast
believing offers.
There is no guilt
or shame in
letting
go.

What a lovely summation of second journey conversations–a rumination on them, really. I love the Advent commands to “Stop and Listen.”
