Flaws.
Some flaws.
Spoiling hope
of perfection.
Yet it is in flaws
that truth is visible.
Living into the lessons
learned from grace and humility
rather than striving for perfection
is the perfect way to discover God.

If
only
the future
had instructions
for assembly
or simple recipes
with faithful ingredients
already in the pantry.
Embrace uncertainty for it is
trust in God that creates the masterpiece.
Let
human
emotions
wash over you
like flowing water.
Hear the rush but do not
obey their siren call for
there is only empty promise.
True happiness comes from within you
when the soul is in communion with God.
Life is like working a jigsaw puzzle.
Beginning with the outside edges
an image starts to take its shape.
No two pieces are alike.
To fit one must connect
with one another
until no blank
space remains.
Wonder.
Whole.
To
embrace
deeper love
relationships
when confronted by
powerful addictions
to positional thinking
vanquishes negativity
and disempowers inner demons
…aligning the spirit with the Holy.
The
power
within us
is not our own.
Although we believe
we have all the answers
to navigate the twists and turns
in our lives, it is really grace
of a loving God who nurtures us
in weakness and empowers us with strength.
The
body
does not end
with the flesh of
human fingertips.
The spirit flows beyond
corporal limits to touch
and commingle with the being
existing in every living thing
to become one with the ultimate God.
Give.
Live
into
the view
that we all
have a call
to share our gifts.
Giving uplifts
our strength, nourishing
divine souls wishing
to reach out and share love.
Anger, fear and guilt shove
the desire too deep to hear
God, covering like veneer
hearts yearning to shed this useless
weight. Let it go. Feel the wondrous
expanse of your spirit opening
its arms to embrace you and aching
to push you from indifference’s womb.
You emerge, resurrected, from death’s tomb.

I first wrote this poem last year but thought it was the perfect end to my year long journey of writing each day. I have truly been reborn in this experience of intentional writing and have been amazed by the gifts of insight I have received each and every day.
The
journey’s
end draws near
Letting the words
flow over me and
wrestling with ideas
until inspiration sparks
Opening the windows to see
inside myself, letting in fresh air
Inviting the Spirit to enter in
It
is not
natural
for us to fly
high above the ground
looking down at the clouds.
Sealed in a pressurized tube,
unlike a bird, we feel no wind.
To travel to places far and wide
however, is the wind beneath our wings.
