When
we feast
on the bread
and drink the wine,
we receive the life
of Christ into ourselves
and we come alive with it!
We remember not who Christ was
but who he is in the here and now.
We are the vessels of Christ in the world.

Grace
is all
around us
in abundance.
Grace takes great courage.
Grace is strength not weakness.
Do not use grace sparingly.
Accept grace when offered to you.
Against hate, grace is the best defense.
The power of grace is within us all.

Lent
departs.
Easter dawns
with renewed hope
in a world askew,
still reeling with discord.
We are now Easter people
transformed by the gift of God’s love
in the risen body of Jesus.
Rejoicing, we walk into the future.
The
Passion
of Easter
is a story
not of life but death,
a mystery of faith
because Jesus is risen
and we believe in His return.
We celebrate His resurrection
not because He lived but that He lives still.
When
the breath
meets Spirit,
transformation
manifests itself
in a powerful way.
Our silence becomes prayer.
Our longing becomes compassion.
What was and is becomes what will be.
The invisible becomes visible.
God
colors
all of us
with divine love,
individual
yet related to the
entire human family.
We each have unique qualities
which combine to make us different.
Yet in the eyes of God, we are the same.
Let
us pray
we can lay
our emotions
of fear and rancor
at the foot of the cross
and share in the suffering,
proclaiming the resurrection
of Christ to a world in need of hope.
Let our faith emerge from the tomb renewed.
This
Holy
Week calls us
to sway like palms
in the spring breezes,
to be vulnerable
to Divine abundant love,
to see suffering in the world,
to lay down our desire for power,
and to open our hearts to God’s kingdom.
