Thin
places.
Interludes
with the divine,
felt deep in the soul.
Distance diminishing
between the holy and the
ordinary, we are transformed.
Awareness heightened, we step into
a place where we are lost but not afraid.
Angels delivered glad tidings from God.
Amidst humble beginnings will be
born a savior of the whole world.

celebrate his birth and
wait for his return.

Ever yearning,
we seek the
child of
God.

The
baby
is coming.
Shepherds will watch
the night sky for the
star to appear and light
the way. Angels will herald
the birth and sing joy to the world.
The wise men will travel from afar.
And heaven and nature will praise his name.
Things
happen
in due time.
Waiting is hard.
Pushing and pulling.
Needing and desiring.
But in the fullness of life,
patience and gratitude will prove
us worthy of a holy rendezvous.
In this moment, we will be one with God.
Sing.
Rejoice!
Do not fear.
The Lord is in
our midst, to calm our
fears and to heal our hearts.
We receive this good news from
messengers who do not wear wings
or have halos, but we will know them.
Standing with us, they offer peace and hope.
As you sit
in the stillness,
you stop doing and
become present in prayer.
Listen to the sounds of your
breath. Breathing in and breathing out.
You are filled with the Holy Spirit,
the essence of life-giving energy.
God
is near.
The spirit of a longing heart warms when
cherishing memories of loved ones
no longer present. The twinkle
of an eye, the smile, the laugh,
all gifts that remain in
our hearts forever.
Not forgotten.
Remembered.
Always
here.
Be
open
to new things.
Take the risk of
changing what is not
nurturing your soul now.
Free your spirit to see things
in a new and different way.
Trust that God is leading you in a
new direction. Watch. You will see the star.
From
longing
comes great joy.
Expectancy
delivers glimpses
of grace. And still we wait.
Goodness and mercy shine through
the cracks, sending light into the
dark corners of our lives, giving hope
for peace and glory in the days ahead.
There
are times
when we do
not understand
the evil that lives
among us. How can a
benevolent God let this
happen? Yet brokenness is our
own doing and we allow evil
to thrive. There is no justifying it.
There is no way to explain such evil.
We have come undone. Our brokenness
leads us down paths to nothingness.
A relationship with God
is there if we seek it.
Renouncing evil,
we turn toward
goodness and
embrace
God.
