Hide and Seek

Hidden
beauty…wonders
of nature tucked into
obscure niches only revealed
to one who can experience beauty
as well as see it with their eyes.
From the rest of the world
such beauty remains
hidden.

The Path

By breathing in the fruits of the Spirit
our hearts are made holy, our hunger
satisfied by the gratitude
for the grace that God provides.
Journeys are not easy.
We can lose our way.
But the path is
always there.
Follow
it.

The Altar of the Holy

We
are all
ministers
in God’s kingdom.
The altar of the
Holy is in the midst
of the world in which we live.
We are all called to do God’s work,
trusting that we have the gifts we need
for the ministry we are called to do.

The Body of Christ

Christ
has no
body here
on earth but ours.

Jesus has neither
feet nor hands here but ours.

His compassion and kindness
for the world flow through our own hands
and wear through the soles of our own feet
so that he may live among us in love.

Inspired by the poem written St. Teresa of Avila, “Christ Has No Body”

The River of Grace

We
are on
the river
of grace, which flows
over rocks and silt
carrying us as it
moves swiftly toward its final
rendezvous.  There is vibrant life
in this water, thriving on manna
from heaven, richly abundant in love.

Forever Friends

There
are some
memories
that are just so
precious to our hearts,
like good friends from childhood,
who remain with us always.
It only takes a small spark to
bring them into the forefront again
to that special place reserved for loved ones.

Light for the Journey

Loving
God, watch over
all who travel today.
In our life’s journeys, surround us
with love and protection, lighting us to
become beacons of inspiration to
fully manifest your
work of tender
loving.

Love Thy Neighbor

The
second
thing we do
to inherit
eternal life is
to love our neighbors as
ourselves, especially those
in need.  It is our caring that
is important, treating everyone
with dignity, respect, and honesty.

The Prayer of Presence

To
love the
Lord our God
with all our heart,
and with all our soul,
and with all our strength, and
with all our mind, we must put
aside all distractions.  Spend time
in prayer. . . the kind where we are quiet.
By our presence with God, we show our love.

Days Gone By

Longing
for days gone by
when life moved more slowly
and attitudes were much gentler.
Summer evenings were spent sipping cold drinks
on the front porch, playing croquet
in the yard, waiting for
the ice cream truck…
longing.
