The
mind and
the body
perform a dance
to the flow of breath.
A swing of emotions
accelerates the heartbeat,
disrupting synchronicity
along the pathways of energy.
There is a vital rhythm to well-being.
The
only
constant thing
in life is change.
The landscape can shift
from calmness to chaos
at an overwhelming pace.
A strong footing is important,
being grounded in resolute faith
that God is the peaceful balance we seek.
I
did not
realize
how much I’ve missed
hugging grandbabies.
Little arms wrapped tightly
around my neck and sloppy
wet kisses bring tears to my eyes.
My heart needs this warmth of human touch.
It is God’s gift of the circle of life.
One
body,
many parts.
Eyes, mouth and nose.
Ten fingers and toes.
Each part has its own role
yet also part of the whole.
Sometimes it moves in unison,
but when divided there’s dysfunction.
Imagine gestures flowing from the Soul.
Words
can be
like sharp swords
cutting through stone
if spoken with rage,
ignorance, or bias.
Repeating rhetoric wounds
the hope of healing dialog.
Feigning ignorance is no excuse
Do not despair. God is omnipresent.
There
has to
be darkness
to see the stars.
And joy and sorrow
are both fully present
as part of the faith journey.
There is sacred liminal space
in moments of ambiguity
just as night becomes dawn before the day.
Wind
Spirit,
carry me
to the River
where living water
flows into the Divine
so that my words and actions
become a stream of truth and love
in a world thirsty for unity.
Jesus, fill my cup with grace and mercy.
The
journey
beckons you.
Dangle your toes
into the water.
Ease into the river
that carries you forward, then
crawl on the bank, dry in the sun,
and close your eyes. Cherish the quiet.
Awaken to the wind calling your name.
Find
stillness.
Use the breath.
Energy flows
throughout the body.
A powerful posture.
Let the Spirit move the mind.
Action can be a distraction
distorting judgment, shifting focus.
Center. Then walk into the world in peace.
