Writer’s Block

Verses.
Thin and brittle.
Forced into confining
constructions once inspiring
succulent wisdom in digestible
bites. Adding fresh ingredients
with just a dash more time
yields bountiful
verses.

I like this cooking reference at the end–fresh ingredients, a dash more time–bountiful verses. When I get ready to write a sermon a lot of times I think to myself that it’s time to go cook up a sermon–because I like to cook–it’s a creative fun thing for me, and you’re right, lack of fresh ingredients and not enough time is not great for either cooking or writing!
