Dreams.
Buried
canvases
manifesting
latent symbols of
deep feelings escaping
stealthily from memories
hidden, better left undisturbed.
Tread carefully. Unraveling such
mysteries can open Pandora’s box.
The
mountains
rise up from
mother earth’s womb
enfolded in blankets
of soft green foliage…
the sight breathing life into
those drawn into their majesty…
treasures buried silently within
peaks awash in rays of heavenly light.
There is a balance somewhere in between
throwing all caution to the wind and
never taking a risk for fear
of exposing ourselves to
being vulnerable.
Taking the path of
least resistance,
though tempting,
lessens
us.
Gliding through life, just skimming the surface
never picking up the rocks to look
at what is hiding underneath
is a shallow existence.
So much richness settles
in the crevices.
Meaning is found
in what you
cannot
glimpse.
Words
slipping
off the tongue,
poison daggers
so carelessly hurled
in selfish disregard.
Weapons of mass destruction
causing as much physical pain
as blades of steel penetrating flesh.
The cost high for such wanton disrespect.
It
is not
often I
have clarity
and I have come to
rely too heavily
on it before making a
decision to avoid failures.
Take a leap of faith. Expect mistakes.
Greater clarity comes with forgiveness.
Old
routines
provide me
with great comfort
but little insight.
New things can be scary.
If my fear gets in the way
I will miss opportunities
to open myself to wonder and
to see the world as God created it.
To
succeed
in today’s
world, our children
must be willing to
experience their lives
with wider eyes and a more
open vision, one that is out
of their heads and more from their hearts…
…to step beyond, not follow, our footsteps.
Although apart, we are never alone.
We are home no matter where we are.
Our memories bind us in ways
that can never be broken.
Love is the strong fabric
weaving us into
a family.
Together
we are
one.
We
only
celebrate
one day a year
the time of our birth.
Yet each moment is the
genesis of something new;
our emergence from the past’s womb
and discovery of the present.
Give thanks each day for the joy of new birth.
