Windows To The Spirit

The breath of the Holy Spirit restores
our strength and gives us the energy
to face overwhelming burdens.
With cleansing sighs of relief,
we exhale our troubles
and breathe in new life,
knowing power
lies within
our own
breath.

A
well-tuned
instrument
creates music,
perfect harmony
amidst discordant noise.
Our lives are a symphony
of God’s grace, a combination
of staccato moments leading to
soothing legato rhythms of wisdom.

To
have a
strategy
for where to go
and how to get there
makes for a smooth journey.
Detours will be distracting.
If the way back cannot be found,
know the endgame.  It defines the path
to lead us back to the destination.

Rekindle the gift of God inside you
with the spirit of power and love
bestowed upon you by faith
in the grace and purpose
of the Holy Spirit.
In Christ, we have a
holy calling
to love and
serve the
Lord.

senses
perceive the
external world.
What if we could see
music and hear colors,
or taste beauty and kindness,
smell strength and touch justice…our minds
could transcend traditional limits
of senses and perceive what is within.

Like a fine wine, we get better with age.
Fruits of our labors add full body
and give clarity to our lives.
Spirits infused with richness,
we fill cups to the brim
with experience,
gifts of great joy,
and wisdom
of the
ages.

We could all really use a coat of paint
to brighten tired and dull surfaces
and smooth over those rough patches
brought on by age and fatigue.
Although not permanent,
a small investment
and some effort
makes old things
look like
new.

A
long day.
Extreme fatigue
weighing me down
like a heavy cloak.
My brain still fighting my
body, racing at light speed
churning through never ending lists.
All I really need to do is sleep.
Alas, there is off switch for my mind.

Our lives are gardens filled with potential.
Both great food and beauty are produced
from well-tended soil, free of weeds.
Occasional fallow fields
help restore fertile minds.
Order and patience
produce rich yields
but we must
plant the
seeds.
