and the failure to act at all.

There is total blindness
and a disconnect
with all reason.
The riposte

We must be aware
and watch purposefully,
avoiding all distractions,
lest not to miss the One who comes
to offer comfort and peace and joy.

A
balm for
emptiness
is solitude.
Taking time to be,
without interference
from the noise that wears us down,
cleanses the soul and restores us.
Solitude is a deep source of strength.
It is in the stillness we can be filled.
We
are so
bombarded
by ugliness,
people and events
assaulting our senses,
that it is hard to see good.
There is no possible escape
with news coverage around the clock.
There is peace within but we must tune out.
In
times of
turbulence
head, heart, body
suffer division.
Noise drowns the melody.
Look deep beneath the surface
to unite the discordant notes
for the joining comes within the soul.
It is here the Divine sings to us all.
There
is no
reason fear
should be rebuked.
Understanding why
this visceral response
causes the heart to race and
short circuits all reason is key.
Expose fear’s source to release its grip.
Stem the tide and open the heart to hope.
