God knows
when we need rest.
An unexpected gift.
The smell of cold is in the air.
God lays down a blanket of fresh white snow.
For a brief respite, all is still.
We have to take it slow.
Just what we need.
God knows.
If
people
look into
your eyes and see
hospitality,
and tell you their secrets,
it is the divine spirit
within you welcoming them in
and inviting them to trust in you.
With just your eyes, you can reflect God’s love.
Nature
is amazing.
An early spring snow storm
A hidden field of daffodils
Breathtaking views just around the corner
A kaleidoscope of colors
A resplendent sunrise
God revealed in
nature.
A
task that
cannot be
done without joy
of heart or purpose
may have pride at its core
and not love as its bedrock.
Enthusiasm is a pure gift,
one that God gives us to let us know
we are truly walking on the right path.
All
events
of our lives
are part of the
landscape God creates
for our earthly journey.
We are shaped and defined by
joys, sorrows, successes, failures,
people we meet and places we go
in the mystery of God’s holy ground.
It
seems to
take me weeks
to adjust to the
late winter time change.
The increased light upsets
my circadian rhythms.
Sleep does not come easily and
waking in darkness unsettles me.
The body senses and cannot be fooled.
Let
me hold
all of it.
Give it to me.
I can handle it.
I am fine, no worries.
I hear myself saying this
believing it to be sincere.
But the truth is, alone, I cannot.
God only gives me what I can endure.
Our eyes
speak more than words
when we are reluctant
to be completely honest to
say what is in our hearts and on our mind.
Thoughts we are unable to voice
without warning betrayed
like secrets by
our eyes.
Greet
each day
with wonder.
Reach out in love
above all to those
who are in hard places
with no one to comfort them.
Your love can make a difference.
Praise God for all the blessings of life
and when nightfall comes, rest and be thankful.
When
does love
change into
idolatry?
If something becomes
the meaning of our life
rather than the portent of
deeper, spiritual purpose,
we are idolizing a passion
separating us from our love of God.
