Peace
is a
healing word,
invoking a
vision of wholeness.
It is God’s hope for us.
We live in a broken place.
When we spread God’s peace to others,
we place our hands into the world’s wounds
and with Christ, become healers of the world.
What
should I
do when there
is someone who
thinks differently
and is so expressive
as to make me shrink away.
For me, it is a reminder
to not hear others in such a way
that feels personal when not meant to be.
In
moments
of clouds of
uncertainty,
trust in the Lord God.
Give yourself over to
God’s care and grace without fear.
Find comfort in the unknowing
of what will happen next, for God knows.
God’s plans for us are written on our hearts.
37 For nothing will be impossible with God.” 38 Then Mary said, “Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her.

Make
friends with
change because
transitions are
inevitable.
New possibilities
arise from the ashes of
that which was known and familiar.
That’s not to say it will be easy.
Look forward with love, not back with regret.
Winter
just does not want
to leave us, its cold chill
lingering past spring’s equinox.
The seasons of our lives are not rhythmic.
We won’t know when our seasons change
until spring does not come
and it remains
winter.
If
I were
to go on
a journey with
God, we would travel
to the four corners of
the world, feeding the hungry,
comforting the sick and needy,
calming the ravaging violence.
Then I would understand and share God’s tears.
Wake
to change.
Remember
what excites you.
Imagine doing
the very things you long
to experience each day.
Prepare your mind and body to
embrace change rather than endure life.
Live into your vision of happiness.
When
painful
things happen,
space opens for
possibilities.
In these in-between times
God fills the gap by His grace.
Loving arms surround and embrace
us with the care and support we need
until we are ready for life anew.
We
do not
know when death
will cross our door.
Some will welcome it
and to others, it comes
unexpectedly, like a
sudden gust of wind, sweeping us
away like a leaf in the tall grass.
Do not be afraid to answer the door.
Our
daughters
are grown up
and so lovely,
capable and strong.
They have all long since learned
how to do things without me.
Yet I still worry about them
when they travel, are sick or alone.
Though not in my sight, always in my heart.
