Windows To The Spirit

Our
choices
can affect
people we have
never met or who
may never cross our path.
It is daunting to believe
just one decision, good or bad,
can have consequences or blessings
we cannot fathom but God has foreseen.

The
flashes
of insight,
chances to glimpse
the holy spaces
that ever so briefly
appear when humanity
meets grace in a loving embrace,
are promises of heaven on earth.
Be assured that all things are possible.

Each
morning
take time to
be thankful for
one thing in your life.
Gratitude has a way
of rooting us to the ground
so we know our place in the world.
Some days will be harder than others,
but each day is God’s gift of love to us.

I
have doubts,
fears, worries,
times when I feel
tired and overwhelmed,
utterly lost in the
maze of life’s urgent demands.
It’s hard not to feel downhearted.
Then I remember God knows my name
and I no longer feel lost or afraid.

To
expect
our lives to
follow along
a certain path of
our very own choosing
is driven by ego which
underestimates and limits
the power of God’s Holy Spirit.
We must not ask how. Just trust it will flow.

There
is more
than to
to skin a cat,
my mom used to say
when my sister and I
argued over who was right.
There is more than one solution
but sometimes we only see our way.
Turning a blind eye does not lead to truce.

It
is a
time of new
growth, a time to
try new expressions
of creativity.
What has fed me in the past
no longer seems to satisfy.
I see life in a different light.
Cherish each moment and live into it.

When
I am
distracted,
not attentive,
not fully aware,
it is like my brain is
physically separate,
disconnected from my body.
Then, a subtle tap on my shoulder
and by God’s grace, I am made whole again.

We
are all
imperfect.
We are human.
Despite best efforts,
mistakes are part of life.
The key is to learn something.
Human tendency is to fail
to realize that in the mistake
is the ability to ask God’s help.
