Come
Holy
Spirit, come
Enter my soul
Make your presence known
by giving me a sign
The truth is we will not know
if tears of joy or feelings of
deep peace are the work of the Spirit
Faith is not seeing yet still believing
Come
Holy
Spirit, come
Enter my soul
Make your presence known
by giving me a sign
The truth is we will not know
if tears of joy or feelings of
deep peace are the work of the Spirit
Faith is not seeing yet still believing
We
see time
ticking past
as linear.
People and events
punctuate the lyrics
of our lives and determine
the direction of our futures.
God’s time is fluid and has no end.
The past, present, and future are all one.
The
gentle
sound of rain
hitting the roof
is very soothing.
After a stressful day
of being bombarded with
the sound and fury of the world,
it’s nice to close my eyes and listen,
letting my ears drink in that peaceful sound.
Our
demons
creep out from
inside our minds
taking control of
reason and common sense.
Strong desires and ambitions
elbow to the front of the line
while pushing kindness out of the way.
God’s love will help us cast out these demons.
When
I face
busy times
I spend too much
useless energy
worrying about how
I will get through everything.
The reality is most times
things go well because I am prepared.
Trust more, worry less, enjoy each moment.
Stress
can be
self-imposed,
we use it to
motivate ourselves
to do what we must do.
But stress takes a toll on us.
Our bodies cling to the tension
that exhilarates but then crashes,
and hides from us our self-inflicted wounds.
We
use words
and actions
to show our love
for one another.
It is our love language.
It may be a kiss or touch,
or perhaps, terms of endearment.
But true love is the ability
to share the inner most parts of ourselves.
There
are some
things we can’t
anticipate.
They just happen and
there’s no way to prepare.
Things turn out differently.
The results get our attention.
Everything happens for a reason.
God may be working in us in new ways.
We
need a
place to hold
our sorrows close,
to own them until
we can reveal our grief.
That special place is prayer.
God is there and knows our sorrows
before we can articulate them.
Close your eyes, do not speak, all will be well.
A
future
with hope… it’s
God’s wish for all
people of the world.
I have had trying times
in my life, but my journey
has been blessed with love and support.
With God’s gift of mercy, I pray that
I offer to all a beacon of hope.
